CFC 100 OL joins Stingers

The Concordia Stingers football program is pleased to announce CFC 100 Thiery Taillon, a talented centre from the Cégep FX Garneau Élans, has signed a CIS letter of intent and will join the team in August.

“We are all very excited to have Thiery as part of the Stingers family,” said assistant head coach Patrick Donovan. “He has amazing talent and will compete right away for the centre position. He’s a player who has been on my radar for a few years now. I couldn’t be more excited to see him wear the maroon and gold.”

Taillon is a very accomplished football player who checks in at six foot two, 270 pounds. As a member of Team Quebec in 2012 he won a gold medal at the Canada Cup championship. He was also named to the Canada Cup all-star team.

He was an RSEQ all-star at the high school level with St-Jean Eudes in Quebec City.

Taillon earns respect for his leadership and intelligence. He was considered by many to be the top centre in the Cégep Division 1 circuit last year and one of the top 20 players to watch going into the 2014 season.

A couple of factors influenced the Quebec City native when it came to making his choice of university.

“Concordia is a program on the rise, one that is making a lot of progress,” he said. “I also like the coaches. I’m very comfortable with them.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
