CFC 100 receiver verbally commits to NCAA Division 1’s UCONN Huskies

CFC#7 Hergy Mayala will continue his career south of the border except he will move to another state.

Yesterday, the 6’2, 190 pound receiver from Montreal, Quebec announced on his twitter account that he has verbally committed to NCAA Division 1 team, UCONN Huskies for the 2015 season.

The CFC 100 standout said that after consulting with loved ones about his final choices, it came down to which place he would be able to develop and excel during his NCAA career.

“I talked a lot to my family,” recalled Mayala of his decision.  “We sat down and evaluated the options I had with UCONN, Rutgers and Old Dominion.”

“I decided to go the UCONN because of the things that are happening down there and just the opportunity of being an immediate impact player.”

Other than Rutgers and Old Dominion, Mayala also received offers from Buffalo, UMASS.  The Quebec receiver was also sought after by two CIS teams, McMaster Marauders and Montreal Carabins.
