CFC50 High School Players of the Week (7): Tremblay, Philip, Wilfer named

Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) will be recognizing the top Canadian born high school players of the week. If you have a player who you think we should recognize each week for their performance, please email us their full stat line each week by Tuesday to the CFC Scouting Bureau.

CFC High School Players of the Week (7)

Xavier Tremblay (3)

Offensive Player

Name: CFC100 Xavier Tremblay
Position: Quarterback
School Team: CFC50Ā CurĆ©-Antoine-Labelle Loups
Year: Senior

W 42-0 v. Les Estacades – Tremblay went 14/18 for 240 yards passing and 5 touchdowns in the Loups quarterfinal win in the juv. Division 1 league in Quebec. Once again, Tremblay proves what a dominate pivot he is.

Defensive Player

Name: Kinsale Philip
Position: Linebacker
School Team:Ā CFC50Ā New Westminster Hyacks
Year: Junior

W 63-15 v. CFC50 South Delta – With 10 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 2 QB sacks, Philip was a force of nature from his linebacker position in the Hyacks win in their last regular season game.

Lineman

Position: OL
School Team: CFC50Ā St. Paul’s Crusaders
Year: Senior

W 35-7 v. CFC50 Vincent Massey – Wilfer was instrumental in the trenches for his team’s big semifinal win against the Massey Trojans in the John Potter AAA division in the WHSFL this weekend.

 

Criteria

This will be based off player’s individual and/or team performance using verified stats. The awards will include:

  • Offensive Player of the Week
  • Defensive Player of the Week
  • Lineman of the Week

The offensive and defensive players will be judged on their individuals stats while the linemen will be selected via a) stats for the defensive linemen and b) overall offensive team performance and number of total yards gained for offensive linemen. (We will include Special Teams players in honorable mentions should they gain our attention.)

Candidates must be attending and enrolled in an accredited high school program. This will not include CĆ©gep players, they will be identified in a separate, but similar, format on a weekly basis.
