CNDF WR #14 Vincent Forbes-Mombleau

CollΓ¨ge Montmorency Nomades (0-5) vs Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy (4-1) The Montmorency offence was dominated by the Notre-Dame defence, which is third in the league with the fewest points against and led by #CFC100 DT Samuel Maranda-Bizeau who created an unbreakable wall. The Nomades QB, Benjamin Pelletier, was pressured and sacked 4 times and picked-off 3 times. The Notre-Dame offence generated 5 touchdowns, including WR Vincent Forbes-Mombleau’sΒ 7 catches for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns,Β and the kicking game provided the rest to close this one at 45-7Β with a second half on running time.

PhΓ©nix DB #20 Bruno LagacΓ©

CΓ©gep LΓ©vis-Lauzon Faucons (0-5) vs CollΓ¨ge AndrΓ©-Grasset PhΓ©nix (4-1) The PhΓ©nix defence took care of business with 4 interceptions, 2 that transited into touchdowns, andΒ tempered the Faucons offence, that was without their star RB Samuel Cameron. The AndrΓ©-Grasset offence did take advantage of each situations and engineered a non reversible lead of 22-0 at the end of the first half. The Faucons gave it their all, but the efforts weren’t enough and theyΒ signed their fifth straight loss by a score of 14-34.

Vanier RB #26 Kevin Foster-Verdier

Vanier College Cheetahs (4-1) vs CΓ©gep Limoilou Titans (2-3) The Cheetahs left Limoilou in a hurry and with a β€œwe were lucky” feeling, because their offence couldn’t get into a groove and Limoilou’s offence, stumbled. Luckily, the Vanier defence created some opportunities with 6 sacks, 9 fumbles, 1 interception and #CFC100 DB Tyris Lebeau led the charge with 7.5 tackles, 2 for loss and 2 sacks. The Titans RB Gabriel BraultΒ tried to carry hisΒ team with 27 touches for 198 yards and the only touchdown, but 2 fumbles that cost the game, 10 turnovers all together, and the crucial one being at the end of the 4th quarter, losing by 2, with the ball on the Cheetahs 40 and 1:09 left. The Cheetahs had broken the Titans back and scored on this last drive to finish at 16-7.

CΓ©gep Vieux-MontrΓ©al Spartiates (3-2) vs CΓ©gep Garneau Γ‰lans (2-3) The Γ‰lans QB, JoΓ© Hudon, went down during the first series with a serious injury. Second string Thierry Doucet came in and completed 10 out of 21 for 161 yards, 2 touchdowns and a costly interception, which is not bad forΒ  guy coming in cold, and managed to move the offence pretty well. Although, Garneau was missing a few defenders due to injuries and the Vieux-MontrΓ©al ground game brought it to evidence with a total of 224 yards rushing which controlled the clock. The Spartiates RB, Jean Clifford Dazouloute, rushed for 147 yards on 22 carries and scored 2 TD’s. The Vieux-MontrΓ©al defence, with Enock Makonzo’s 8 tackles, kept the Garneau running game to a total of 124 yards and 1 touchdown by RB Christophe Harnois-Tremblay. The Spartiates come away with a 26-22 win and a record above 500.

Champlain DB #4 Uriel Kalenga

Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars (4-1) vs CΓ©gep Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu GΓ©ants (2-3) The GΓ©ants’ offence, led by #CFC100 QB Dimitri Morand, who completed 31 out of 39 for 407 yards and 2 majors, did generate 35 points, but the Cougars stopped the important drives and scored more points. Champlain’s defensive front generated 2 TD’s, both by DB Uriel Kalenga, 5 sacks and limited the GΓ©ants to 113 yards rushing. In his second start of the season, Cougars rookie QB Thomas Bolduc completed 17 out of 25 for 373 yards including 3 touchdowns and propelled the offence, that was without their star RB Thomas Bertrand-Hudon and a ground game that only produced 90 yards rushing, to a shocking 63-35 victory.
