Clarkson, St Joe’s start with wins

Clarkson Football North (FN) kicked off their 2018 season with an impressive 35-0 (mercy rule) win over COF Academy. FN was dominate on the defensive side of the ball and on special teams, which produced short fields for the offense and were responsible for 21 of the 35 points. CFC100s Adam Sedore and Jethro Oleko were all over the field as Sedore registered 4 TFLs and 3 QB sacks and Oleko had several big hits that set the tone for the entire defense. There was also some young defensive lineman who had step up and were impressive in their FN debut; CFC100s Leif Magnuson and Justin Stevens. Offensively, the ground game gave FN it’s early lead as CFC100 Brendan Barrow visited the endzone on more than one occasion against a sturdy, athletic COF defense. After a few adjustments, CFC100s Nick DeJesus and Clark Barnes made a few big plays through the passing game. Clarkson travels to Cincinnati to take on traditional powerhouse Archbishop Moeller this Friday.
