#CFC10 SUMMER RANKINGS – Bantam (12): HUGE rematches loom with the heavyweights squaring off to see who is #1!!

BANTAM (UNDER 15) TOP TEN RANKINGS – WEEK 12 (previous week’s ranking in parenthesis)

1) ESSEX RAVENS (1) 8-0 (1-0) OVFL (won 59-24 vs. #10 Brampton) LB Kaiden Burdick had a 60 yard pick six and QB Jake Heydon continued where he left off in the regular season with another aerial show. The Ravens pivot completed 14 of 17 passes for 176 yards and two TD strikes with no picks. Heydon who threw 18 TD passes and only ONE interception in the regular season is the league’s most efficient passer and a major reason why the Ravens are the favourites. Next up: #4 Cambridge Lions – Adam Conference Final

2) BURLINGTON STAMPEDERS (2) 8-0 (2-0) OFC (won 40-29 vs. Forest City) Niklas Sadonoja rushed for three touchdowns and 165 yards on 16 carries. The Stamps will now go for their fourth straight OFC crown this weekend in Guelph. Next up: #5 Huronia – OFC Final

3) CUMBERLAND PANTHERS (3) 8-0 (1-0) OVFL (won 67-0 vs. York Simcoe) Running back Jake Asselin had SIX rushing touchdowns……..in the FIRST HALF.  Next up: #6 Myers – Wettges Conference Finals

4) CAMBRIDGE LIONS (4) 7-1 (1-0) OVFL (won 7-3 vs. Niagara) A physical tough win against Niagara, RB James Hinsperger rushed for 158 yards and the game’s only TD. The Lions completed one pass begging the question, can Cambridge be this one dimensional and have a shot against Essex? Next up: #1 Essex – Adam Conference Final

5) HURONIA STALLIONS (5) 7-1 (2-0) OFC (won 34-13 vs. Oakville) After Oakville’s Justin Kurc returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for seven, the Stallions settled down and got their revenge avenging their only loss of the year. QB Nicholas DeJesus was a one man show going 19 of 28 in the air, throwing for two touchdowns and scoring three more with his legs.  Matt Zebedee was DeJesus’ favourite target hauling in 11 balls on the day (well 12 if you include his interception on defense!).  Next up: #2 Burlington – OFC Final

6) OTTAWA MYERS RIDERS (6) 6-2 (1-0) OVFL (won 27-0 vs. Durham West) Myers hopes the third time’s a charm as they get ready to face Cumberland in the Wettges final.  Next up: #3 Cumberland – Wettges Conference Finals

7) NIAGARA SPEARS (8) 5-3 (1-1) OVFL (lost 7-3 @ Cambridge) The Spears fought valiantly and close the gap from earlier in the season.

8) FOREST CITY THUNDERBIRDS (7) 6-2 (1-1) (lost 40-29 @ Burlington) A great effort put forth to cap a great season, unfortunately the Stamps were just a little too strong.

9) BRAMPTON BULLDOGS (10) 4-4 (1-1) OVFL (lost 59-24 @ Essex

10) METRO TORONTO WILDCATS (NR) 6-2 (0-1) OVFL (season finished) Lost 20-19 First round vs. York Simcoe
