#CFC10 SUMMER RANKINGS – Bantam Final Rankings: That’s all folks!!

With Labour Day right around the corner and the days getting shorter, the curtain came down on the 2015 Ontario Summer season. A great season that saw some great team and individual performances came to a close with the OVFL championship game last weekend. The 10-0 Wettges champion Cumberland Panthers took on the 9-1 Adam Conference champs Cambridge at the University of Waterloo . The Cambridge Lions pulled a 38-37 upset of previously top-ranked Essex last weekend to punch their ticket to the finals, while the Panthers were fresh off their 28-9 dismantling of arch-rival Myers.

The Panthers looked like they were on their way to a perfect season when DB Prince Inanzala intercepted a Michael Warner pass and took it 45 yards to the house to give the Panthers an early 7-0 lead. Unfortunately for the Panthers, that would be the highlight of the day for them. The Cambridge offense executed a ground and pound attack to perfection with running back James Hinsperger leading the way with 193 yards on the ground as the Lions hammered their way to a 28-10 win and the OVFL Bantam crown. The OVFL crown wasn’t enough to secure top spot in the #CFC10 Rankings though with that distinction going to the OFC champion Burlington Stampeders. The Burlington Stampeders looked unstoppable running roughshod over the OFC and finishing the season 11-0.

Well that’s it for this year just as fast as it came, it went! Thanks to everyone, at all levels in both leagues from the coaches, volunteers, officials and most importantly the players. Have a great fall season everyone and see you next year.
