#CFC10 SUMMER RANKINGS – JUNIOR VARSITY FINAL RANKINGS

The primate seen running around the University of Waterloo was the monkey that was previously on the back of Myers Head Coach Matt Kassner and the JV Myers Riders. Myers, the 2013 and ’14 runner-up proved that if at first you don’t succeed…..try and try again. Led by the province’s best player running back JP Cimankinda, Myers got over the hump and knocked off the Niagara Spears 45-42 in an incredibly entertaining OVFL’s Junior Varsity final.

With the win the Myers Riders JV take the #CFC10 JV crown for 2015. The Riders were dominant from wire to wire and were only challenged in the season opener against the Toronto Thunder and in last weekend’s OVFL final against the Spears. Plenty in Guelph will disagree, but the Myers Riders are the #CFC10 2015 Champs.

JUNIOR VARSITY (UNDER 17) #CFC10 FINAL RANKINGS (previous week’s ranking in parenthesis)

1) OTTAWA MYERS RIDERS (1) 8-0 OVFLΒ (3-0) OVFL (won OVFL Championship 45-42 vs. Niagara) JP Cimankinda seemed to get better each week, shattering records along the way. Cimankinda finished the regular season and playoffs (excluding the final) with 2793 yards rushing and 37 scores. What is even more impressive is the 991 rushing yards gained by Hayden Tripp on top of that. That’s almost 4000 yards rushing. What does that say about Riders Offensive line?!?! The forgotten crew clearly the best in the biz, the Myers Oline was dominant and bullied the rest of the league, able to impose their will on the league’s best front sevens. Congratulations to the 2015 #CFC10 Champs. OVFL JUNIOR VARSITY CHAMPS

2) GUELPH JR. GRYPHONS (2) 8-0 OFC (2-0) (season finished – won 21-5 vs. Peterborough in OFC Final) All the preseason talk in the OFC centered around Hamilton and Burlington. Guelph showed the preseason is just that…..talk.Β OFC JUNIOR VARSITY CHAMPS

3) NIAGARA SPEARS (3) 7-1 (2-1) OVFL (lost OVFL Championship 45-42 vs. Myers) The Spears peaked at right time, gaining momentum each week and pounding London in the Adam Conference championship game 33-5. Unfortunately they ran in to an unstoppable force in the Myers Riders ground game. Still an absolutely phenomenal season for the Spears. OVFL ADAM CONFERENCE CHAMPS
