1) PATRICE RENE – 6’1, 190 DB (ONTARIO):

The 6’1, 190 pound retains the top ranking for the third straight time.Β  Back on January 20th, he committed to NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team, University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

Back on August 8th, Rene ended a recruitment process which extended 25 and a half months by initially announcing his verbal commitment to the Scarlett Knights.

However, speculation back in December led to Rene withdrawing his previous commitment to NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team, Rutgers Scarlet Knights after the recent firing of Scarlet Knights Head Coach Kyle Flood.

As the most sought after prospect nationally, Rene netted 28 NCAA Division 1 offers including ones from Rice Owls, Wisconsin Badgers, Syracuse Orange, Oklahoma Sooners, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Virginia Tech Hokies, Virginia Cavaliers, Vanderbilt Commodores, Tennessee Volunteers, Temple Owls, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Northwestern Wildcats, Penn State Nittany Lions, Kentucky Wildcats, Indiana Hoosiers, Duke Blue Devils, Boston College Eagles, Minnesota Gophers and Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Rene became the third consecutive Ottawa area prospect to grab the top spot in theΒ #CFC100 CLASS 2016Β RANKINGSΒ joining Β 2014 CFC #1 pivot Michael O’ConnorΒ andΒ 2015 CFC #1 defensive end Neville GallimoreΒ in this elite group.

The defensive standout is currently suiting up south of the border for Episcopal Maroon in Alexandra, Virginia. Β Previous to the Maroon, Rene has suited up for the St. Peter Knights of the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA) and Orleans Bengals of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA). He trains at Gridiron Academy with Victor Tedondo.

2) CHASE CLAYPOOL – 6’5, 203 ATH (BRITISH COLUMBIA):

This past July, the 6’6, 213 pound athlete from Abbotsford, British Columbia announced on ESPN U that he chose to commit to NCAA FBS team Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

β€œIt’s relieving knowing I made a great, great choice and made my family proud but the recruiting process was really fun,” commented Claypool after his announcement in an interview with CFC.

During his recruitment process, Claypool racked up more than 12 NCAA offers including ones from Arizona Wildcats, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Nebraska Huskers, Washington Huskies, Oregon Ducks, Rice Owls, Nevada Wolfpack, Rutgers, Utah, San Diego State,Β University of Michigan Wolverines and Washington State Cougars.

This past fall, he suited up for Abbotsford Collegiate Panthers of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).

3) DANIEL JOSEPH – 6’4, 250 DL (ONTARIO):

The 6’4, 250 pound defensive lineman from Brampton, OntarioΒ chose to commit to NCAA Division 1 FBS team, Penn State Nittany Lions this past June.

Joseph received multiple NCAA offers including Bowling Green, Duke, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, New Mexico, Rutgers, Stanford, Syracuse, Toledo and Vanderbilt.

Recently, Joseph completed his final season with Lake Forest Academy in Illinois.Β  Previous to Lake Forest Academy, Joseph played for Brampton Bulldogs of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

TheΒ CFC # 3Β ranked player’s older brother is Iowa Hawkeyes defensive lineman Faith Ekakitie.

4) JESSE MEYLER – 6’5, 285 OL (ONTARIO):

The towering 6’5, 285 pound offensive lineman from Toronto, OntarioΒ will be joining NCAA Division 1’s Northwestern Wildcats.

Meyer is suited up alongsideΒ CFC #1 Patrice ReneΒ with Episcopal Maroon in Alexandria, Virginia.

Previous to the Maroon, the offensive lineman played for both the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Blue Devils of the Toronto District Secondary School Athletic Association (TDSSAA) and Toronto Thunder of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

5) AMEN OGBONGBEMIGA – 6’1, 210 LB (ALBERTA):

In late June, the 6’2, 209 pound linebacker from Calgary, Alberta announcedΒ verbally committed to NCAA Division 1 Football Championship Subdivision (FBS) team, Oklahoma State Cowboys.

In addition to the Cowboys, Ogbongbemiga received an offer from Nevada Wolfpack.

Ogbongbemiga completed his career withΒ Notre Dame PrideΒ of the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association (CSHSAA) where he helped the team their third consecutive Provincial Tier 1 Championship in 2014. That same year, he was selected as a Calgary Division 1 All-Star.

This past spring, theΒ linebacker was selected as a Calgary Area Midget Football Association (CAMFA) All-Star for his season with the Hilltoppers.

6) NATHAN ROURKE – 6’2, 205 QB (ONTARIO):

Still hoping for that last minute NCAA offer that will prompt him to sign south of the border, the 6’2, 205 pound quarterback from Burlington has tried to make a strong case for himself this past year.

A couple of weeks ago, a local Alabama media site has put forth an article which suggests that should he not receive additional interest as his recruitment process has become quiet recently.

Rourke did receive his first NCAA Division 1 offer from Football Championship Subdivision team, Alabama A & M Bulldogs before the Christmas break.

Last month, Rourke won the AISA Back of the Year Award that was handed out at the Alabama Sports Writers Association Mr. Football Banquet.

Despite the outlook, theΒ #CFC100Β pivot is optimistic of his chances to join a team by NCAA Signing Day.Β  Multiple NCAA schools have shown interest in Rourke including Chattanooga, East Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State, Mississippi State, Missouri, Southern Mississippi, Troy and UCLA so he hopes that will translate in an eleventh hour offer.

Recently, Rourke enjoyed a successful 2015 campaign that saw him lead the Alabama’s Edgewood Wildcats to their sixth straight AISA β€˜AA’ Championship and extend a winning streak of 71 games which is a state record.

The Oakville pivot amassed 3,768 passing yards, 59 passing touchdowns and three interceptions this past fall with the Wildcats. His completion rate was 75 percent and he rushed for 385 yards as well as 12 touchdowns.

With this win, theΒ #CFC100Β prospect is the second consecutive Wildcats player to receive the honour.

Previous to the Wildcats, Rourke helped Holy Trinity Titans of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association to an OFSAA Bowl victory in 2014. He also suited up for the Burlington Stampeders of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).

Rourke is also a previous participant of theΒ Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC).

7) Β BENJAMIN ST-JUSTE – 6’3, 175 DB (QUEBEC):

This past June, the 6’3, 175 defensive back from Montreal, Quebec accepted an offer from NCAA Division 1 team, Michigan Wolverines.

St.Juste has played for CEGEP Division 1 team, Vieux-Montreal Spartiates.Β  In 2014, the team won the Bol D’Or Championship in triple overtime over Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars.

Previous to the Spartiates, the defensive back suited up for RSEQ Juvenile Division 1’s Cure-Antoine LaBelle Wolves.

Isaac-Berglund CFC100 2016 3rd ed

8) ISAAC ADEYEMI-BERGLUND 6’3, 235 DE (NOVA SCOTIA):

A newcomer to the top 10, the 6’3, 235 pound defensive end from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia becomes the highest ranked Atlantic recruit in the history of the #CFC100 rankings.

About 10 days ago, Berglund received his third NCAA offer as Division 1 Football Championship Subdivision (FBS) team Robert Morris Colonials came to the plate.

Back in October, the defensive end received two NCAA offers in a short span of time.

Berglund’s first offer came from NCAA Division 2 team Simon Fraser Clan earlier in the month.Β  Towards the latter part of the month, Division 2 program, West Virginia State Yellow Jackets also offered him.

The defensive standout capped off his career with CEGEP Division 1’s Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars by helping the team win the Bol D’Or Championship.

Previous to the Cougars, Berglund suited up for the Dartmouth High Spartans of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL).Β  During his time with the Spartans, he was selected as a NSSAFFL Nova Division First-team All-Star at both the linebacker and defensive line positions. Additionally, he was named Spartans Defensive Player of the Year and MVP.

Domenic Cipriani CFC 100 2nd edition

9) DOMENICO CIPRIANI – 6’4, 275 DT (ONTARIO):

The 6’4, 275 pound defensive tackle from Toronto, Ontario attended Bradenton, Florida’s IMG Academy.

Previous to IMG, Cipriani played north of the border for Villanova College Knights of the Conference Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA).

10) BRUNO LABELLE – 6’4 210 TE (ONTARIO):

After a year-long recruitment process, the 6’4, 210 pound tight end from Sainte Therese, Quebec verbally committed to NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team, Cincinnati Bearcats.

In addition to the Bearcats, Labelle received four other NCAA Division 1 FBS offers.Β  Those include Buffalo Bulls, Bowling Green Falcons, Ball State Cardinals and Toledo Rockets. Additionally, Minnesota Gophers and Indiana Hoosiers were courting the Quebec tight end.

β€œIt was an unbelievable feeling to know that I will finally realize my dream to play college football,” expressed Labelle in a recent interview with CFC.
