CFC100 DB Kemeni makes it official on NCAA Early Signing Day

CFC100 Peter Kemeni out of CFC10 Clarkson Football North officially signed with the Ohio Bobcats on NCAA Early Signing Day.

The 6’2″, 195lbs defensive back was fielding offers from Toledo, Kent State, UMass, Miami (OH) and Indiana State, but it appears the Bobcats quickly took over the conversations after sending an offer on June 11th. In a statement posted to social media, Kemeni was very grateful for all the help he received along the way from family, friends and coaches,

“Thank you to all the schools that offered me an opportunity to represent your school as a student-athlete while taking the time to build a relationship with me. I am beyond blessed to be able to say that I am committed to Ohio University.”

Kemeni grew up playing locally for the Mississauga Warriors of the OVFL, and attended Bishop Reding High School before transferring to Football North where his recruiting profile really exploded during his sophomore campaign.

He had the option to join his CFC100 teammate Reignings Awah at Kent State in 2020, but instead will be playing alongside CFC100s Kurtis Rourke and Jett Elad on campus, who’ll be joining the Bobcats this season. All three will be looking to keep the Canadian tradition alive following in the footsteps of CFC100 Maleek Irons, who currently plays for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL, and CFC100 Nathan Rourke, who’s become a star quarterback in the MAC during his illustrious career down south.
