It was a dream come true for CFC100 DB Sydney Brown out of Illinois, who was selected 66th overall in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The London, ON native will be joining the Eagles after a dominant career five year career at Illinois, where he became one of the top prospects in the nation. Brown made an immediate impact on campus starting ten games as a freshman, which tied him for the school for most starts as a true freshman with former NFL pro Vontae Davis. He continued his rise to stardom during his sophomore year earning coaches All-Big Ten Third Team honours, and finished second in the Big Ten with three interceptions. His best year was yet to come in 2021 when he led the Fighting Illini with 81 tackles, and earned All-Big Ten honourable mention from the coaches and media. Brown’s talent was undeniable in his final season at Illinois earning All-Big Ten First Team honours, and accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.
