After watching seven rounds fly by, it was finally celebration time for CFC100 LB Amen Ogbongbemiga who signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent at the conclusion of the 2021 NFL Draft per reports from 3DownNations Justin Dunk.

The Calgary native was on the cusp on being selected, but it doesn’t matter whether you receive the call in the seventh round or post-draft, Ogbongbemiga will have the same chance to impress the coaches just like he did as an under the radar signing at Oklahoma State. While his teammate and now fellow NFL colleague CFC100 Chuba Hubbard stole most of the headlines during their college days, make sure to keep an eye out for the former 5th ranked CFC100 Class of 2016 prospect when training camps roll around this summer in California.

From Quincy Forde’s Path to the Draft Series

“The first linebacker we’re highlighting in the series is Oklahoma State’s Amen Ogbongbemiga. Ogbongbemiga is the younger brother of BC Lions practice squad member Alex Ogbongbemiga and the cousin of Miami Dolphins defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah. In 2019, Ogbongbemiga had 100 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks, leading his team in all of those statistics, earning himself Defensive MVP of Gundy’s Cowboys, in addition to a second-team All-Big 12 nod. This was building off a 2018 season where he was the team’s Special Teams MVP. The intelligent linebacker hopes to further this success through the rest of this year.”

Draft Outlook From November 5th: My guess is that Ogbongbemiga will be a day three NFL draft pick, which will alter his CFL Draft stock. Ogbongbemiga would be a first-round talent in the CFL draft, but he’ll likely turn into a late-round pick by a team that’s willing to take the chance, hoping that he may not stick in the NFL.
