On the Cowboys Signing Day Blog, Defensive Coordinator Glenn Spicer commented on the #CFC100 recruit and newest Cowboy.
“Amen grew up in Houston and moved to Canada so he kind of got off the radar in the United States, which was good for us,” expressed Spicer. Β “Watching his junior tape, I was intrigued by the space they had to cover in Canada.”
“Then when we got him to camp last summer, I was impressed with how his body is changing. Heβs probably in the 215 range. Heβs going t o fill out and get stronger. Heβs another one who tackles well. He doesnβt miss a lot of tackles. He has a grasp of defensive schemes. Heβs very instinctive. I think heβs a rare find.”
Ogbongbemiga completed his career withΒ Notre Dame PrideΒ of the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association (CSHSAA) where he helped the team their third consecutive Provincial Tier 1 Championship in 2014. That same year, he was selected as a Calgary Division 1 All-Star.
This past spring, theΒ linebacker was selected as a Calgary Area Midget Football Association (CAMFA) All-Star for his season with the Hilltoppers.
