CFC100 2017Β Gregor Mackellor

Rice will be one more Canadian as the 6’5, 205lbs offensive lineman from Halifax, NS signs his LOI.

We asked Gregor how he felt leading up to this day and he responded, “I feel great leading up to signing day. I couldn’t be happier with the decision I’ve made and the group of people I’ll be spending my next few years with. I committed last June and I can’t wait to finally make this dream a reality on February 1st.”

He also said,”I chose Rice first and foremost because of the academics and the football. They excel in both and that is an opportunity that I was truly blessed to receive. The environment at Rice is fantastic and the players and coaches are fantastic people that excel at what they do. There were no doubts for me at all when I chose Rice.” when we asked him, why Rice?

Having played his high school football at St. Andrew’s college in Ontario, Mackellor was named to the 2016 CFC All-Canadians, 1st Team. But high school football is not the NCAA and there will be a lot to learn in his freshman year. Gregor has a plan for this and expects a lotΒ during this year.

“In my Freshman year I expect to compete and grow with other freshmen, learn the systems of the offense, become stronger in the weight room and have success in the classroom. I’m willing to put it in everything I have to make the most of my time at Rice as a student athlete.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
