#CFC100 Meyler signs with NCAA’s Northwestern Wildcats (VIDEO)

Early this morning, #CFC100 Jesse Meyler made it official with NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team, Northwestern Wildcats.

Wildcats Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald announced via twitter that the towering 6’5, 285 pound offensive lineman from Toronto, Ontario signed with the team:

Overall, the #CFC100 is ecstatic about his future with the Wildcats.

β€œNorthwestern is a team that is on the come up,” expressed Meyler.Β  β€œI’m excited to be a part of a team that is about to be great.”

β€œCoach [Pat] Fitzgerald is an amazing coach and working under him is very exciting. Coach [Adam] Cushing, the Offensive Line Coach, is also a great coach that will help me be the best player I can be and excel at my position.”

Overall, the thrill of playing in a top notch conference has the Ontario offensive lineman stoked.

Finally I’m excited about the opportunity that playing in the Big 10 brings me,” said Meyler. β€œThe Big 10 is a premier conference and we have the national champions to compete against.”

β€œI will be playing against the top competition in the country and that is something to be very excited for.”

While he is coming into 2016 as a new kid on the block, the #CFC100 offensive lineman hopes to make an early impact on the Wildcats.

β€œAs a freshman on the team my goal is to be the best practice player on the team,” expressed Meyler.Β  β€œAs long as I can practice hard every day then everything else will take care of itself.”

This past season, Meyer suited up alongsideΒ CFC #1 Patrice ReneΒ with Episcopal Maroon in Alexandria, Virginia.

Previous to the Maroon, the offensive lineman played for both the Sir Wilfrid Laurier Blue Devils of the Toronto District Secondary School Athletic Association (TDSSAA) and Toronto Thunder of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
