There hasn’t been many bright spots for U Sports football in the past year, but that all changed Saturday night with Montreal Carabins CFC100 OL Pier-Olivier Lestage, who signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent at the conclusion of the 2021 NFL Draft per reports from 3DownNations Justin Dunk.

It’s always fascinating when a prospect makes the jump from U Sports straight to the NFL, but this time it’s even more impressive after Lestage had his final year of eligibility put on hold thanks to the pandemic. However, that didn’t stop the Saint-Eustache, Quebec native from receiving an invite to the prestigious East-West Shrine Bowl that he attended virtually, which really flew under the radar this year compared to other editions of the game, but clearly not for the Seattle scouts. The 6’3″, 295lbs phenom also took part in the Tropical Bowl and College Gridiron Showcase in Texas, all leading to the faithful call from the Washington area code.

Lestage was named U Sports Second Team All-Canadian in 2019, and was ranked as the 39th best prospect on the CFC100 Class of 2017 Rankings while competing for Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu at the CEGEP level in Quebec. That easily makes him one the greatest risers in CFC100 history to date with every other prospect heading to the NFL this year ranked in to the top ten upon graduating, or already lived in the United States prior to high school.
