Today weβll be reviewing one of the most inspiring and well-traveled football journeys out there. New York Jets WR John Metchie III’s career has taken him from Taiwan to Ghana to Brampton, to number one ranked CFC100 prospect, all the way to Alabama, and now the NFL.
High School Career & Recruiting
Long before his football career even began, Metchie was born in Taiwan before spending part of his early childhood in Ghana. Just a few years later at the age of six, Metchie and his family moved to Canada, ultimately settling in Brampton, Ontario. There, Metchie played youth football in the Brampton Bulldogs organization. His affinity for sports is something he credits his older brother, Edmonton Elks DB Royce Metchie, for helping him develop as he looked up to him in their youths.
