CFC#2 commits to Stanford

Whitby defensive lineman verbally commits to NCAA Division 1 team

After considering 22 NCAA offers, CFC #2 Wesley Annan finally made one of the biggest decisions of his gridiron career late Thursday night.

The 6’4, 280 pound defensive lineman from Whitby, Ontario has verbally committed to NCAA Division 1 FBS team, Stanford Cardinal.

Among the other teams that offered to Annan were Illinois Fighting Illini, Syracuse Orange, Ball State Cardinals, Bowling Green Falcons, Brown Bears, Bucknell Bison, Central Michigan Chippewas, Colgate Red Gators, Cornell Big Red, Duke Blue Devils, Harvard Crimson, Holy Cross Crusaders, Maryland Terrapins, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Toledo Rockets, Tulane Green Wave, West Michigan Broncos, Boston College Eagles, New Mexico Lobos, Ole Miss Rebels and Virginia Cavaliers.

Currently, Annan is currently attending Lake Forest Academy in Illinois. Other teams he has previously suited up north of the border for include the Toronto Thunder of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and the Donald A Wilson Gators of the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (LOSSAA).

Now that the decision is made, Annan is content to move on the next stage of his gridiron career.  However, it is not lost on him that he would not have been able to realize his ultimate gridiron dream of playing in the NCAA without the support and motivation of several individuals.

“I’m relieved that my recruiting process is over and I can focus on getting ready for next year,” expressed the CFC 100 defensive lineman of his commitment. “I’d like to thank my family, God, my trainers at EFT Sports Chicago, Toronto Thunder Football, my coaches at Lake Forest Academy, ALSC The Health Institute and all my close friends who believed in me.”
