The CFC25 Small School Rankings are back for another season!
Now that plenty of teams have seen action outside of Ontario and Manitoba, we’ve got a pretty clear picture of the front runners in the rest of the country with some massive shakeups to report.
St. Joseph’s take the top spot on the ranking after a blazing 5-0 start to the season including a big 67-14 win this past week over Peace Wapiti, while elsewhere in Alberta, the Holy Rosary Raiders are off to the flier as well after grabbing a huge 56-7 victory over Lloydminster, and followed it up last week with a 63-0 win against Cold Lake. Cochrane continue their dominance at the Tier III level hanging with the big boys, and George McDougall make an appearance on the list after a 3-0 start in conference play.
Out in Quebec our former champions College Bourget have fallen to the bottom of the list in favour of College de Levis and College Laval, who’re currently battling for first play in D1-B with an incoming collision in the final regular season matchup. Like they planned it. Don’t count out Bourget, however, who lost to their rivals by a combined score of 4 points.
In Nova Scotia, Halifax West has impressed out of the starting blocks with a pair of massive victories including their latest over Avon View, but they have some competition at the top from Sydney Academy who’re also undefeated. Close by in New Brunswick things have stayed the same with L’Odyssee keeping their strangle hold on the division.
In Saskatchewan, Greenall hit the ground running once again with a pair of victories to open the year, while Martin jumps onto the list after taking down Balfour in week one, and a dominant 49-0 victory over Thom in week two of their regular season. Meanwhile in Saskatoon, Bishop J. Mahoney holds onto their rankings after a 2-0 start, but there will be plenty of chances for their rivals to knock them off after a scare against Aden Bowman last week.
Lastly in B.C. the Vernon Panthers took care of business in week one after a very tough non-conference schedule, but Robert Bateman will be looking to take the thrown in the AA Coastal Division after making an appearance on the list at 22.
It will be a wild ride to the finish as Manitoba and Ontario join the battle, so stay tuned for plenty of movement in the weeks ahead.

Who’s getting ranked?
For the first time, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national ‘Small School’ high school football rankings known as the CFC25.
The CFC25 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are classified as non-conference games) and forfeit* wins are not considered towards overall record.
How is theĀ CFC25Ā evaluated?

The CFC25 is a RELATIVE RANKING that considers small school leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province) and the strength of the league. Additional criteria used to determine the relative ranking are the ability to accomplish winning a championship, the impact players and performers on that team (ie. CFC100s, CDN All-Stars etc.), and a team’s coaching and recent tradition.
The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The CFC25 is released every Tuesday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.
