It’s that time of year again when canadafootballchat.com (CFC) ranks all 27 U Sport program’s recruiting classes. Every week, CFC will be updating total points and average points per player. All U Sport teams are fully up to date with the U Sport Commits page.
We’ve been on the road with the CFC Prospect Game tryouts, but we are back at it with the latest update of the CFC27 ranking.
Laval is still in the lead with 931 points and 27 commits. however, Carleton is now No. 2 with 850 points and 32 commits. McMaster follows with 783 points and 34 commits. Montreal is in 4th place with 769 points and 22 commits and Alberta rounds out the top 5 with 765 points and 47 commits.
Interestingly, Montreal takes the No. 1 spot in average points per player by a small margin at 34.95 points compared to Laval at No. 2 with 34.48 points per average. Saskatchewan is in 3rd place with 31.80 points followed by Queen’s with 29.96 points per average. UBC rounds out the 5th spot with 27.90 points per average player.
It’s safe to say that much of the recruiting is finished, but there are still quality recruits available and will most likely be picked up before the quiet period around the East-West Bowl.
