CFC27 update (7): The grind never stops….Guelph going strong, Laval improves again

The final push for this year’s U Sports recruiting season is in full swing. All U Sports teams are fully up to date with today’s update of the CFC27 U Sports Recruiting Rankings.

Guelph landed some solid players this last week again keeping them in the top 5 of overall rankings. They are getting up there with 47 recruits to their class, seven of them CFC100‘s. The other four top programs remain status quo.

In the RSEQ, Laval also saw themselves back in the top 5 with their recent signing of CFC100 Christophe Bouchard from CNDF. While Laval only has 28 recruits, they do an incredible job of identifying talent. If you are getting recruited by the Rouge et Or, odds are, you are a solid football player with great potential.

It is interesting to watch the middle to bottom of the CFC27 with respect to the average per player rankings. Some programs who you would think would be maintaining their position over these past couple of weeks, because of their lack of activity or the strength of their class so far are seeing themselves being pushed lower on the list by those programs who are still managing to land solid talent even at this late stage.

The grind never stops……

*CFC employs a point system based on the recruits declared in the recruiting class on CFC:

  • Schools declare recruits at different times of year (i.e. Quebec schools recruit most in January, higher academic school entries are later, etc) so make sure you equate the amount of recruits with the point system
  • Players are rated based on (a) CFC100 ranking (b) 4-star ranking (c) 3-star ranking (d) all other players get a NR
  • Transfers are NOT allocated points as of 2016-2017 as they would have acquired points in their original class year. They will be listed on the ‘Transfer List’.
  • #CFC27 is updated once per week
