CFC27 update (8): Montreal lands solid recruit to jump over Thunderbirds

The final push for this year’s U Sports recruiting season is in full swing. All U Sports teams are fully up to date with today’s update of the CFC27 U Sports Recruiting Rankings.

This past week Montreal landed a solid defensive back to push them ahead of the UBC Thunderbirds in the total rankings. Calgary, McMaster, and Guelph maintain their spots at 1st, 2nd, and 5th respectively.

St. Mary’s has done an outstanding job at recruiting some incredible talent from coast to coast and those results are starting to pay off. They are sitting 4th in the average per player rankings.

For the rest of the list, we see some positive movement with the Gee-Gee’s and with Laurier as they also landed some more solid talent to their classes.

The programs that prioritize lineman will have a higher average per player ranking than those who either have problems getting these recruits, are alreadyĀ deep in this spot, or don’t see this position as a priority.

Either way,Ā the 2017 recruiting season is slowly winding down and there aren’t too many top recruits left out there…..unless they are a sleeper we don’t know about.

*CFC employs a point system based on the recruits declared in the recruiting class on CFC:

  • Schools declare recruits at different times of year (i.e. Quebec schools recruit most in January, higher academic school entries are later, etc) so make sure you equate the amount of recruits with the point system
  • Players are rated based on (a) CFC100 ranking (b) 4-star ranking (c) 3-star ranking (d) all other players get a NR
  • Transfers are NOT allocated points as of 2016-2017 as they would have acquired points in their original class year. They will be listed on the ‘Transfer List’.
  • #CFC27 is updated once per week
