#CFC50 2017 high school RANKINGS (7): No movement up top, but lots of movement below

No. 1 South Lions (4-0, 1-0) – With another 30+ point win, the Lions don’t seem to be slowing down or showing any signs of struggle as they charge towards the OFSAA Bowl festival. We will see what happens when they play Saunders this week….and challenge for a piece of wood?

No. 2 St. Francis Browns (4-0) – With a tight win against ranked #CFC50 Notre Dame CGY, 13-9, the Brown hung on to their perfect record and can breathe a sigh of relief that that one’s over with until playoffs. They will face CFC50 Bishop O’Byrne this week who have one heck of a quarterback and a monster on defence.

No. 3 Séminaire Saint-François Blizzard (7-0) – Another frosty day in Quebec as the Blizzard continue put the stop on all opponents – this latest one 47-0 against the ND Cactus. The Blizzard won’t play again until the 28th against the undefeated Wolves where we will see just how good both teams are.

No. 4 St. Paul’s Crusaders (6-0) – With a 41-7 win over the Sturgeon Sabres, St. Paul’s is cruising to the playoffs. They are on a bye this next week to complete their regular season.

No. 5 A. N. Myer Marauders (4-0, 1-0) – The Marauders smashed another team this week, 58-7, and remain undefeated.

No. 6 Curé-Antoine-Labelle Wolves (7-0) – With a 33-18 win over Roger-Comtois, the Wolves continue to hunt down the Blizzard. They have one more team to beat before that happens though as they play L’Academie Saint-Louis this weekend.

No. 7 St. Thomas More Knights (3-0, 1-1) – IDLE

No. 8 Harry Ainlay Titans (6-0, 2-0) – Salisbury lost to the Titans this past weekend, 33-18. Ainlay is well on it’s way to a match in Southern Alberta with the Browns it looks like at this point. Ross Sheppard will have their hands full this weekend.

No. 9 Huron Heights Warriors (3-0, 1-1) – Another lopsided win for the Warriors, 53-7. The Warriors won’t play again until the 27th against St. Brother Andre.

No. 10 New Westminster Hyacks (4-0, 2-1) – The Hyacks hold on to the 10th spot with their 44-27 win against #CFC50 Notre Dame. They go on to play Belmont next week who have a speedy CFC100 receiver who will beat you every time should you give him the chance.

For the eighth year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as the #CFC50. The #CFC50 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are classified as non-conference games) and forfeit* wins are not considered towards overall record.

How is the #CFC50 evaluated?

Leagues included in rankings: British Columbia AAA Varsity, Alberta Tier One, Saskatchewan 12-man 4A, Manitoba AAA Varsity, Ontario OFSAA Bowl AAA qualified teams, Quebec Juvenile Division 1, New Brunswick 12-man, Nova Scotia Tier 1.

The #CFC50 is a RELATIVE RANKING that considers top tier leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province) and the strength of the league that they play in. Additional criteria used to determine the relative ranking are the ability to accomplish winning a championship, the impact players and performers on that team (ie. #CFC100s, CDN All-Stars etc.), and a team’s coaching and recent tradition.

The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The #CFC50 is released every Monday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.
