GAME INFORMATION:

The Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (FPC) is a series of elite showcase games that feature the best tackle football players from across Canada aged 10-19 years.  Tournaments are played in Central Canada and the West Coast.

The WEST COAST will include 4 age-group games played in Vancouver as well as a TRAVEL TEAM (birth year 2000 – grade 11) that will play the Fox 40 Ontario-Quebec all-stars in Ottawa.

TWO (2) REGIONS

WEST  (COAST) REGIONVancouver Island & Lower Mainland: Includes all of Vancouver Island and everything west of the Pitt River, North of the Fraser and west of Highway 99 to the border)

EAST (INTERIOR) REGION = Kamloops to Kelowna to Western Alberta (Prairies)

Fraser Valley & Interior: Includes everyone east of the Pitt River South of the Fraser and east of Highway 99 to the border & the North)

THREE (3) PHASES

  • -Phase 1 is the tryout series: Regional camps that players attend to showcase their skills to be invited to phase 2, the selection camp (no football equipment, mouth guards recommended).

    PHASE 1:  2016-17 TRYOUT SERIES [$60 online $80 on site]  OPEN TO ALL PLAYERS– ONE-TIME FEE, ALL TRYOUTS [schedule below] IMPORTANT NOTE: Players are only required to attend one tryout (although the can attend multiple or all for the one-time flat fee)
    TRYOUT SERIES REQUIREMENTS:
    No football equipment needed (no helmet or shoulder pads, mouth guards recommended), OFFENSE wear white jerseys/shirts, DEFENSE wear dark jersey/shirts

  • -Phase 2 is a selection camp:  The selection camp is designed for players to showcase their football ability in a camp setting to be invited to phase 3, the all-star game (full equipment required). Phase 2 dates will be confirmed by mid-January.  Projected first weekend of April.

    PHASE 2:  2017 TOP 100 selection camp [$99] INVITE ONLY – BASED ON TRYOUT SERIES PERFORMANCE [Weekend of April 1-2]
    TOP 100 REQUIREMENTS: Full Football Equipment, OFFENSE wear white jerseys, DEFENSE wear dark jersey   NOTE: Equipment rental available

    -Phase 3 culminates in a showcase all-star game:  The weekend prior to the games is a practice weekend followed the next weekend by a competitive all-star game.

    PHASE 3:  2017 GAME [$149] INVITE ONLY – BASED ON TOP 100 PERFORMANCE [projected: GAME = 2nd Weekend of May; GAME PRACTICES = 1st weekend of May]
    GAME PRACTICES/GAMES REQUIREMENTS:  Full Football Equipment, OFFENSE wear white jerseys, DEFENSE wear dark jersey for practices

SPECIAL: Grade 11 players will have a chance to compete to make a travel team that will play a game in Ottawa, Ontario versus the Fox 40 Ontario/Quebec all-stars in the nation’s capital.  Like the other teams, this team will be selected from Phase 2 participation.

SAFETY MEASURES: (a) we encourage all players to wear mouth guards for all 3 phases (b) If you have had surgery or a concussion in the past 12 months we need a clearance note from a doctor to participate (c) All Fox 40 events have athletic trainers present (d) concussion protocol and education guided by PARACHUTE and CDC (e) ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS AND ATHLETES
