Losing the last two games, the Harfangs face the ground pounding Condors. The Saint-Joseph defence will need to stop QB/RB Adrien Guay to move on.

Académie Les Estacades Aigles (2-6) vs Collège Notre-Dame Cactus (7-1) Tough challenge for the Aigles, but coming off a bye week, which enabled the troops to rest and prepare, might help them compete. With the worst offence facing the second best defence, the odds are against the Aigles. Notre-Dame is very well prepared for this time of the year with their reliable running game with RB Theodore Seaborn, who is sitting in second place in rushing yards, and their efficient defence anchored by DT Myles Lussier. The result should be the same as when they met in week 2, Notre-Dame won 23-2. The Estacades may slow down the Cactus offensive surge, but their offence will not be able to score, and Notre-Dame will proceed to the semi finals.

CollΓ¨ge Jean-Eudes Aigles (3-5) vs Γ‰cole Sec. CurΓ©-Antoine-Labelle Loups (5-3) Jean-Eudes can compete with CurΓ©-Antoine-Labelle and their regular season confrontation proved it, ending with a final score of 35-28. The Aigles defence needs to stop QB Xavier Tremblay, who is ranked number 2 with 1498 yards, and their four receivers who all finished with over 260 yards in receiving yards. They both have average RB’s, considering the fact that they are both passing oriented offences. The CurΓ©-Antoine-Labelle defence, ranked third in points against, could be the difference maker, although they did struggle in stopping QB Arnaud Desjardins in their last confrontation, but the special teams cut the wings off the Aigles with a punt return for a major. The Loups enter the playoff race with a belly full and with a running down the hill attitude. Beating the Condors in overtime last week spread an enthusiasm that will propel them to the semi finals.

triolet-vs-condors

Saint Jean-Eudes Condors (4-4) vs Γ‰cole Secondaire Triolet Harfangs (4-4) The Harfangs finished the season with two straight losses and their last win was over the Condors. They should be excited and enthused for this contest, which will be played at home and hopefully mother nature will collaborate in keeping the rain away. Their offence has been guided meticulously by QB Lukas Boulanger, who is ranked first with 1635 yards passing and fourth in rushing yards with 642 yards. He has connected 34 times with WR Gabriel Boulanger for 746 yards, placing Gabriel in the number one position in receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns. The weather will dictate their fate, because Saint Jean-Eudes has the advantage of a power running attack with RB Γ‰mile Malenfant, who finished in third position with 1045 rushing yards. At the end of the season, in our beautiful country, winning depends on your running game and your defence stopping the run. In this case, the Condors have the edge with their defence ranked fourth versus the Triolet’s last place defence. This is a great matchup and the score will be close, but the Condors should prevail.

CollΓ¨ge Charles-Lemoyne Dynamiques (3-5) vs Γ‰. Sec. Armand-Corbeil Scorpions (7-1) The Scorpions sitting at number 2 in passing offence and number 1 in rushing, with 3 of their RB’s in the top 7, including the DantΓ© Tortoricci being first with 1324 yards. Facing the Dynamiques number 3 defence, which held Armand-Corbeil to 211 rushing yards in week 2, this will be an interesting game. The Dynamiques offence has improved all season long and should be able to score some points and hopefully, the defence keeps the Scorpions powerful offence on the sidelines. Most doubtful, considering Armand-Corbeil’s versatile and multiple weapons available,Β CollΓ¨ge Charles-Lemoyne will face elimination in the first round.

SΓ©minaire Saint-Joseph Defence

Γ‰cole Sec. Pointe-LΓ©vy Corsaires (3-5) vs SΓ©minaire Saint-Joseph Vert et Or (5-3) If the Pointe-LΓ©vy QB/RB, Adrien Guay, can throw the ball, the Saint-Joseph defence, piloted by sack leader LB Laurent Rioux, will need to bring their A game. The Corsaires had managed 2 passing touchdowns the last time they met, but the Vert et Or defence had shut down the run, which will be a must if they are going to move on to the semi finals. The rushing performance of the Vert et Or QB, Charles Cossette, which enabled them to beat Pointe-LΓ©vy in week 4, will be a determining factor. The Gold and Green defence will stop Guay and help conquer the Corsaires.

Γ‰cole Sec. Saint-Stanislas Patriotes (4-4) vs CollΓ¨ge de LΓ©vis Commandeurs (5-3) They met three weeks ago and it turned out to be a close one, and the Patriotes loss by 4 points. This competition will not be different and the result should be the same, the Commandeurs winning by a few points. The Patriotes defence face the second best QB, Tristan Blais, and the number 2 and 3 RB’s. Blais being the second with 1125 rushing, and Gabriel Leblond, third with 1005 yards. Blais has thrown 16 passes for touchdowns, while rushing for 10 for a combined total of 16 majors. The LΓ©vis defence, composed of number 2 and 3 sack leaders with 7 QB takedowns each, DE Vincent Michaud and LB Pierre-Olivier Lefebvre, will contain the Pariotes offence. Ranked the number 2 defender in the division, Lefebvre, will be supported by DB Christophe Laplante, who is in 8th position in total tackles, in contributing to their team’s win.
