CFC50 High School Rankings WEEK 1: Who’s ready for another wild ride?

TOP HEADLINES

• It’s been an interesting start to the year in Alberta, where Harry Ainlay take over the top spot in the province after defeating Raymond in a close exhibition match. Meanwhile, Ernest Manning tumble for now after a tough loss to Salisbury in exhibition, but it’s yet to be seen how each program will fair during league play.
• Miller remain the top dogs in Saskatchewan, but they might have a new title contender with Riffel breezing past LeBoldus 47-7 in their season opener. On the other side of the province, Holy Cross and St. Joseph’s still sit atop the Saskatoon league, but the Guardians received an early wake up call via Harry Ainlay, who destroyed them 53-6 in a cross-border preseason matchup.

• BC have begun their lengthy exhibition schedule, and we’ve had a surprising fall by G.W. Graham, who are sitting at 0-2 after a swift defeat at the hands of New Westminster. All eyes will be on the Hyacks to see if they are true contenders to knock off the reigning AAA Varsity champions Vancouver College.
• Saint-Jean-Eudes are off to another perfect start in Quebec with a key win over St-Francois, but after two weeks it looks like we might have another super competitive race for the Bol d’Or. College Notre-Dame are the only other undefeated team left standing, while Cure-Antoine-Labelle and Charles-Lemoyne are looking like early contenders.
• Tantramar opened the season in New Brunswick with a 37-0 win over the reigning champions Riverview. Is it time for the Titans to reclaim their throne?
