Ontario Conference Offensive All-Stars

The Canadian Junior Football League in conjunction with the Ontario Conference are proud to announce the 2017 Conference Offensive All-Stars as voted on by the coaches.

There are five positional categories with both the Windsor AKO Fratmen and Hamilton Hurricanes each receiving four awards.

The 2017 Ontario Conference Offensive All-Stars are:

Offensive Line:
DeMarcus Ware – Windsor AKO Fratmen
Mustapha Mehry – Windsor AKO Fratmen
Austin Rowe – London Beefeaters
George Panageotopolous – London Beefeaters
Caleb Palmateer – Ottawa Sooners

Running Backs:
D’Angelo Knox – Windsor AKO Fratmen – He won the Ontario Conference rushing crown with 71 carries* for 654 yards* and 6 touchdowns*.  His average carry was 9.2 yards
David Adeniran Jr – Hamilton Hurricanes – 58 carries for 630 yards and 5 touchdowns

Receivers:
Trea Ivey – Hamilton Hurricanes – 33 receptions* for 727 yards* and 6 touchdowns
Malcolm Carter (pictured) – Ottawa Sooners – 23 receptions for 438 yards and 7 touchdowns*
Enzo Trunzo – Ottawa Sooners – 16 receptions for 282 yards and 2 touchdowns
Devon Woods – Windsor AKO Fratmen – 22 receptions for 496 yards and 5 touchdowns

Quarterback:
Jake Marquette –Hamilton Hurricanes – 102 of 162 for 1,520 yards, 16 touchdowns, a 63% completion percentage and a passer efficiency rating of 118.9%

Place Kicker:
Johnny Rekiel – Hamilton Hurricanes – He was 6 of 11, good for 54% and was tied for the Conference’s longest field goal at 46 yards.

The Ontario Conference is preparing for the 2017 CJFL Canadian Bowl Championship Series.   First up on Saturday will be the #2 seeded Hamilton Hurricanes hosting the #3 seeded London Beefeaters at 4:00pm at Tim Hortons Field.  Then the night cap the top seeded Windsor AKO Fratmen will welcome #4 ranked Ottawa Sooners at 7:30pm on the campus of the University of Windsor.  The winners will meet for the Conference title game next week.

Ontario Conference Defensive All-Stars

The Canadian Junior Football League in conjunction with the Ontario Conference is proud to announce the 2017 Conference Defensive All-Stars as voted on by the coaches.

There are four positional categories and the fourth place Ottawa Sooners led the Conference with five All-Stars followed by three players from the Windsor AKO Fratmen and GTA Grizzlies.

The 2017 Ontario Conference Defensive All-Stars are:

Defensive Line:
Adam Slikboer – Windsor AKO Fratmen – 13 tackles, 3 assisted tackles and 4 sacks
Jacob Benson – Windsor AKO Fratmen – 6 tackles, 3 assisted tackles and 4 sacks
Mitch Thompson – Ottawa Sooners – 6 tackles and 5 assisted tackles
Anthony Federico – Hamilton Hurricanes –9 tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 6 sacks, 1 knockdown and 1 forced fumble

Linebackers:
Oscar Reddecop – London Beefeaters – 27 tackles, 3 assisted tackles and 6 sacks
Tyler Dekkers – GTA Grizzlies – 34 tackles*, 13 assisted tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 knockdown, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 interception
Nicholas George –Ottawa Sooners – 21 tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 0.5 sacks, 1 blocked kick, 1 knockdown and 1 interception return for a 55 yard touchdown

Defensive Backs:
Marcus Severe – Ottawa Sooners – 14 tackles, 3 assisted tackles, 3 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery and 3 interceptions
Jordon Gorgichuk – Ottawa Sooners – 14 tackles, 6 assisted tackles, 1 knockdown and 1 fumble recovery
Isaiah Bonenfant – GTA Grizzlies – 28 tackles, 4 assisted tackles and 1 forced fumble
Terrell Swaby – GTA Grizzlies – 30 tackles, 5 assisted tackles, 1 blocked kick, 1 knockdown, 1 forced fumble, 3 interceptions and 1 for a touchdown
Elijah Blythe – Windsor AKO Fratmen – 10 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 4 interceptions

Punter
Cole Crossett – Ottawa Sooners – 30 punts with a net average of 30 yards a kick*.  His longest kick was 55 yards and he did record one rouge.
