CJFL: BCFC 2017 schedule released

April 20, 2017 – British Columbia Football Conference 2017 BCFC schedule released

The 6 teams in the BCFC kick off the upcoming season July 29th with a full slate of games. The Langley Rams get things underway when they host the Vancouver Island Raiders at McLeod Athletic Park @ 4PM. At 6PM in Kamloops the Broncos host the Valley Huskers at Hillside Stadium in a meeting between the two teams that missed the post season in 2016.

The final game of the evening goes 7PM at the Apple Bowl in Kelowna. It sees a rematch of last year’s Cullen Cup as the Okanagan Sun host the defending BCFC champion Westshore Rebels. The BCFC teams will again play a 10 game schedule that will wrap up Oct 7.

The BCFC play-offs start the Oct 14/15 weekend with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals. The BCFC championship wraps up the conference season the weekend the following Saturday or Sunday (TBD) at the home of the highest placed remaining team.

This season is shaping up to potentially be one of the most competitive in years, as on paper at least the 6 BCFC teams seem to stack up well against one another. There are three new head coaches (Charly Cardillichia-Westshore, Bob Reist-Valley, and Doug Hocking-Vancouver Island).

CJFL Play-Offs

The BCFC champions will travel to the prairies in a national semi-final game the Oct 28/29 weekend to take on the PFC champion.

The CJFL returns to a three-conference national league as the Ontario Football Conference returns after a three -year hiatus. The OFC champions will host the Canadian Bowl on November 11 against the winner of the semi-final between the BCFC and PFC.
