It was a record setting performance for the Kamloops Broncos on Saturday night in their 72-17 win over the Valley Huskers.Β  The BCFC takes a closer look at their victory.

Quarterbacks Steve Schuweiler and Connor Whitelaw combined to throw for 583 yards, setting a new single game BCFC record that had stood for 43 years.Β  The 1972 Vancouver Meralomas threw for 580 yards.

The pivots also combined for nine touchdown passes which tied a BCFC record.

Of the nine majors, Schuweiler threw seven of them plus 467 yards, both Bronco team records.

His main target Derek Yachison (pictured) hauled in four touchdowns and 191 yards, both new team records.

Finally the offence was clearly clicking on all cylinders as they tallied 700 yards of total offence, another new team record.

The Broncos (1-0) will host the Langley Rams on Sunday night at 7:00pm at Hillside Stadium in a rematch of last season’s BCFC semi-final.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
