Erick started playing in the Joe MacDonald Youth Football League where he played for 3 years. He started playing high school football in grade 8 and was allowed to play in the junior football tournament because he was registered at St. Benedicts. He became a full time starter in grade 11 after some spot duty. After his grade 11 season Erick began attending camps receiving a variety of awards in the process including SDSSAA all-star, GTA top 100 football players, and member of the GTA all star team.

Erick has many memorable football experiences, his top 3 being: “Playing Junior Football in grade 8, my first start in High School Football (grade 11), and the All-Pro Football camp 2010”

The most influential people in his life has been his parents. “They have helped me achieve my goals what ever they may be, and they have given me everything I need to succeed both on and off the field. Other people who have been the most influential on my football career have been my coaches, Frank Rocca and John MacLean, if it weren’t for them I wouldn’t be the player I am today, when I first came to them, I had no idea of what a proper block was supposed to be, I had very bad foot work, and no aspirations to play university football. I have come a long way and I owe it all to them. Another duo that I couldn’t have come this far without is Jimmy Michaud and Troy Thompson at T2 Training Systems, there rigorous training program in the off season has made a world of difference. Another influence in my football career has been Ron Dias, he has done a lot for me and I wouldn’t be getting the attention I have been getting without his help.”

Erick is very dedicated and hard working, training 5 days a week. Though aggressive on the field, off the field he is known as the ‘gentle giant’. Known as ‘lizz’ to his friends (short for Lessard), he loves football but also enjoys lacrosse, hockey, and track and field throwing events. He has also competed in local strongman contests.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
