Class 2012: QB Antoine Leduc will commit to either Laval or McGill for 2012 season

Fx Garneau (CEGEP DIV 1) QB Antoine Leduc is yet to choose where he will play in 2012.

Antoine began his football career at the mini Rouge et Or football camp and then made the decision to play football at his high school, le collège Saint-Charles-Garnier in his hometown of Québec, Québec. Antoine played in the Juvenile BB level untill he was recruited by FX Garneau for his CEGEP career. Antoine has played a total of 3 seasons with les Elans. This Season, Antoine was named the offensive MVP of the CEGEP divison 1 league and also won the Bol d’OR as the league champions. In the eyes of many Québec football fans, Antoine is the best QB available when it comes to this year’s CIS commits.

Leduc stands at 6’2, 215 pounds and will attend university in 2012 and was approached by various programs throughout the country. Antoine says that it has come down to either the McGill Redmen or the Laval Rouge et Or.

“I am currently leaning towards Laval for various reasons but I am yet to make the decision”
said Leduc.

He is not sure what program he will be studying come 2012 but is thinking it will be Sciences.

“I am still looking at programs to study but i think i will enroll in Geomatic Sciences come fall 2012″ .

Leduc says that he played the football of his life this season and his best football moment came in the Bol d’Or as they beat Les spartiates de Vieux-Montreal 59-31 and along the way, his offence set the record for most points scored in the final. Antoine is known for being a threat with both his arm and his legs. He is capable of staying in the pocket and hurting defences with his arm but he is also capable of scrambling for positive yards when his receivers are covered.

When it comes to football, Leduc says that watching Michael Vick and Drew Brees is the thing that has influenced him the most. Their various styles have showed him that you can succeed both as a scrambler and a pocket passer.

” I try to model myself around the way they play, there always calm in the pocket and 2 very successful QB’s “

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
