After a whirlwind recruitment process which netted him 24 NCAA offers since February 19th, Chuba Hubbard has decided where his future gridiron home will be in the coming years.

Yesterday, the  6’1, 190 pound running back from Sherwood Park, Alberta announced on social media that he has verbally committed to NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team, Oklahoma State Cowboys:

Hubbard has received multiple NCAA Division 1 offers during his recruitment process including ones from Missouri Tigers, University of Central Florida Knights, University of Buffalo Bulls, University of Texas at San Antoinio (UTSA) Roadrunners, Pittsburgh Panthers,California Golden Bears, Oregon Ducks, Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs, Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, Oklahoma Sooners, Iowa State Cyclones, Texas A&M Aggies, North Carolina Tar Heels, Colorado Buffaloes, Miami Hurricanes, Auburn Tigers, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Colorado State Rams, Tennessee Vols, Syracuse Orange, Washington State Cougars and Bowling Green Falcons.

This decision came months earlier from when he was set to announce as in a previous interview with CFC, Hubbard said he would take some time and was expected at this point to make a final decision on his future next February.

“I won’t be making a decision for a while most likely,” offered the Class 2017 prospect in the interview.  “I think I’m going to wait till National Signing Day to make my official decision!”

“I’m still new to all this so I’m just going to try and enjoy the process!”

Cowboys Head Coach took to Twitter as well to express his excitement of gaining the offensive standout to the Cowboys’ football program:

Currently, Hubbard is with the Bev Facey Falcons of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA). During the 2015 season, Hubbard scored 30 majors and rushed for 2,534 yards on 135 carries.

Additionally, he previously suited up for Sherwood Park Rams.

During his career, Hubbard has received several honours including Team, Offensive and Special Teams MVP as well as Outstanding Running Back Award.

With his commitment, he joins two fellow Alberta players – #CFC100 Class 2016 Calgary linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga and Calgary offensive tackle Shane Richards who both signed this past February during NCAA National SIgning Day with the school.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
