Duvernay-Tardif looking to secure spot with Chiefs with couple of practices remaining

A little over two weeks into training camp with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif still remains focused on his primary goal.

In a Chiefs Spin article by Herbie Teope, the 6’5, 321 pound offensive lineman from St.Hilaire, Quebec reveals what his ultimate quest is by the end of training camp.

“I’d love to make the team,” Duvernay-Tardif said to Teope.  “That’s my only goal and that’s been my goal since the first day here.”

Recently, Duvernay-Tardif switched positions and is now playing left guard.  With three practice sessions remaining, he is currently sitting behind Jeff Allen and Jeff Likenbach on the Chief depth chart.

The Quebec offensive lineman also disclosed to Teope in the interview that he has been taking steps to improve not only his game but his chances of cracking the Chiefs roster through film review, examining the playbook and seeking advice/help in his quest to understand the team’s offense better.  Those he is consulting with include his new teammates Rodney Hudson, Rishaw Johnson and Allen.

“I think I’m just working hard every day and everybody is working their ass off this whole training camp,” he said to Teope.   “I just try to do the same, try to learn as fast as I can.”

“I’m still doing some mental mistakes, but I guess I’m physical and that’s what the coach loves.”
