For two years, the young player was recognized for his defensive prowess. He won the defensive player award twice and a Heart and Soul award while with the Rebels.

Standing at 5ā€™10, 220 pounds, Cartierā€™s main position is defensive end. Ā However he has a good set of hands and said he could be a receiver.

Among the many possibly highlights of last season, the young player narrowed it down to one singular hit. It came during a game where Cartier laid out a beautiful hit on the opposing quarterback.

On June 28, 2016, Cartier received his high school diploma. He is currently looking at universities. He said that he is considering going to school in Kamloops and he would like to become a carpenter.

ā€œI am considering Kamloops because it is very beautiful with nice people. Itā€™s an awesome place to be,ā€ Cartier said.

The recruiting process, he added, has been good. He has no plans for any official visits to any universities, however he said he will try to see some campuses soon.

Wherever his story goes from here, Cartier has his family to thank for their influence.

ā€œThey are constantly supporting me, helping me to be a better man and keeping me in the loop of being fit,ā€ he said. ā€œThey also drive me to all my football games and are supporting me even when they arenā€™t there.ā€

During the season, his training regime consists of eating healthy, maintaining a good level of carbohydrates and training constantly. He would like to improve my hitting the gym and conducting his own exercises.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
