Doc’s Good Friday

Dinos linebacker held Pro Day this past Friday.

It was an especially Good Friday for Doctor Cassama

The 6’1, 201 pound linebacker held a Pro Day at Rundle College.  While the Green Bay Packers were reportedly the only NFL team to attend the event, a Pro Day tape will be sent to several teams that have expressed interest in Cassama.  Those teams include Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Oakland Raiders and St. Louis Rams.

During testing at his Pro Day, Cassama had 17 reps on the bench press, clocked 7.10 on the three-cone drill and 4.55 seconds on the 40 yard dash.

Cassama is not eligible for this year’s CFL Draft (to be held on May 13th) because he is considered an import player as he played high school football in his native country – Sweden. In spite of this he has attracted attention from both sides of the border.

The linebacker, who is a native of Kristianstad, Sweden, recently completed his third season with the Calgary Dinos.  In the 2012 season with the Dinos, Cassama registered 24.5 tackles, had a fumble recovery and caught an interception.

Previous to the Dinos, Cassama suited up for Swedish team, Kristianstad Predators.  Moreover, he represented his home nation as a member of Team Sweden at the 2009 World Junior Football Championships in Canton, Ohio, where he was selected to the all- tournament team.  He was also named an all-star at the 2008 Junior European Championships.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
