Durant selected to Daktronics Super Region Three team

Burnsville, MN – Simon Fraser University Clan football wide receiver Lemar Durant (Coquitlam, BC) has been named to the Super Region Three first team of all-stars for his efforts this season.

Durant received more votes than any other wide receiver.

The sophomore transfer from University of Nevada-Reno led the Clan offence throughout the season, and led the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in receptions per game, receiving yards per game, receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

This All-Regional honour will add to his award total for this season as he was also named to the GNAC All-Conference first team, GNAC Newcomer-of-the-Year, and Simon Fraser’s offensive most valuable player.

Durant was the only GNAC player selected to the Super Region Three first team.

During the 2012 season, Durant would haul in 82 receptions for 1227 yards and score 16 touchdowns, the longest of which was for 73 yards.

He also tied the GNAC record for most touchdowns in a game when he scored four on the road against Dixie State.

Nationally, he finished third in the NCAA in receiving yards per game, sixth in receptions per game, third in total receiving yards and 14th in scoring.

The Clan football team finished the 2012 season with a 5-6 record and will be back in action with the team’s spring camp in 2013.
