Football New Brunswick (FNB) is pleased to announce that Vince Sturgeon has been selected as the Head Coach for the New Brunswick U16 Provincial Football Team.

Vince grew up and played his minor football in Fredericton. He currently still resides in the city and has been coaching since 2003 with various teams as head coach and offensive and defensive coordinator. Additionally, he has been a part of the Capital Area Minor Football Association (CAMFA) Executive and has received numerous volunteer and coach of the year awards from both CAMFA and FNB.

The Football New Brunswick U16 program is a high performance initiative which is in its first year of existence. This year the team will play a home and home game versus Nova Scotia’s U16 Football Team. This is the same introductory process that the U18 Provincial team went through when it began. The U18 Team will be competing in the Football Canada Cup for the third straight year this July. “The U16 program will provide an entry point for athletes that are interested in playing football in a high performance environment.  The U16 and U18 programs will give players the chance to pursue football as a high performance sport and compete at a national level,” says Vince who added “The U16 program is an excellent opportunity for players to learn and grow as football players, and to improve by competing against top level competition not only in games, but also on the practice field”.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
