On Tuesday afternoon in Quebec City, Judge Rena Edmond acquitted former CIS quarterback Alex Skinner of assault charges stemming from a June 2013 incident.
This ruling ended a three year roller coaster for Skinner which saw his CIS career evaporate.
Back in 2013, Skinner was charged after an alleged altercation with an off-duty police officer in a parking lot of a bar establishment in Ste. Foy, Quebec.
Media reports have indicated that Skinner could be considering filing a civil suit.
Skinner was undefeated as a starter in 2013Β completing 72 of his 105 attempts for 1,013 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions for Laval Rouge et Or.
The Rouge et Or handed Skinner a three game suspension at the beginning of the 2014 CIS season.
Previous to the CIS, Skinner also suited up for the Cumberland Panthers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
