It’s been a whirlwind recruitment frenzy south of the border for five Canadian recruits.

The following are the latest updates on which Canadians have scored the latest NCAA Division 1 offers:

PATRICE RENE:

With over 20 NCAA offers, Patrice Rene has courted the attention of many scouts.

On May 13th, the 6’1, 180 pound defensive back from Ottawa, Ontario received an offer from Rice Owls.

Additionally, he was offered by Wisconsin Badgers on May 11th. Among the others include Oklahoma (home of 2015 CFC #1 Neville Gallimore), Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Temple, Syracuse, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northwestern, Penn State, Kentucky, Ohio State, Rutgers, Indiana, Akron, Duke and Boston College.

In a recent interview with Scout Recruiting’s Michael Clark, Rene is set to make a decision towards the end of the summer.  Moreover, five offers are emerging as potential frontrunners – Ohio, Duke, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Rutgers.

“I’m still wide open, but those schools are definitely recruiting me the hardest and I’m comfortable saying they are standing out,” offered the Ontario defensive back to Clark in the interview. “It means a lot that they are showing so much interest, but I’m still waiting for things to slow down so I can really analyze everything.”

The defensive standout is currently suiting up south of the border for Episcopal Maroon in Alexandra, Virginia.  Previous to the Maroon, Rene has suited up for the St. Peter Knights of the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA) and Orleans Bengals of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA). He trains at Gridiron Academy with Victor Tedondo.
