Franck Chancellor Kemayou began his football career with the Mississauga Warriors Football Club, a poetic imagery for this warrior.
When Kemayou started playing football, he was both a defensive end and an offensive guard, but due to his high-level of athleticism, he asked to be switched to linebacker, where his athleticism would be better used.
But, Β Kemayou’s season after just two games, βI ended up tearing my ACL, MCL, Meniscus, and bruised bone,β says Kemayou, but that nasty injury did not stop him from signing up the very next year, like a warrior.
βI came back the next year, and started on the Mississauga Warriors varsity team and was named Defensive captain,β adds Kemayou.
To Kemayou football is more than just a game; it is a way of life, it is a group of people bonding together over the common goal of winning a championship, sacrifices, playing through injuries, commitment, discipline, etc. βIt consists of many life skills, which is useful in adulthood,β says Kemayou.
Football is also a very competitive game, which brings another aspect of Kemayouβs life out, his competitive fervor. βFootball brings out the competitive side of me, from which I benefit as I use that mentality in my education,β adds Kemayou. CFCFPC would help him in that regard, “just trying to get my name out there while pursuing a post-secondary education,”says Kemayou.
The young man does not idolizes a current or former professional athlete, but ex-teammate Deshawn Stevens because he had all the tools to succeed, βsize, strength, speed, academics, which led him to play linebacker at Maine University,β says Kemayou.
Kemayou spends his offseason playing basketball, he is βcurrently on his high schoolβs senior basketball team,β says Kemayou, because βin football you either get better or worse, but you never stay the same.β Basketball helps him with his conditioning.
