Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): DL Spuehler ready to become a better player

Thomas Spuehler’s first game of football was last May with the Cornwall Wildcats in the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

“The spring season was great,” said Thomas, “we won some, lost some, but at the end it was a great experience.”

The defensive lineman played again in the fall with the Wildcats, which was another experience. “I wished we would have won more, but I learned,” added the Wildcat.

This year, Thomas is competing in the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge to face new challenges, continue to learn and develop more skills.

During the offseasn, he participated in the Elite Football Academy in Ottawa. He is also working out at the gym at school to build his strength.

Thomas loves football because it is such a fun sport to play.

“Winning is awesome, but when the team works together and the plays are good, it’s an awesome feeling,” commented Thomas. “I just started playing last year, but I don’t want to stop.”

“This year, I’m working to improve my game [and] my skills to be a better football player.”
