Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): DT/FB DeAth hoping to play university ball one day

Liam DeAth started playing football at the age of eleven with the Burlington Minor Football Associationā€™s house league, where he spent two years with the Alouettes and the Argos.

He was then asked to play with the Burling Stampeders in the Ontario Football Conference (OFC), where he managed to make many connections in the football world.

Through the Stampeders, he was asked to tryout for Team Canada to play in the Pop Warner Super Bowl, where he ended up winning the tournament the past two years in a row.

The Stampeders then pointed the defensive tackle/fullback towards the Fox 40 Prospect Challenge and he has now made the team three years in a row.

His goals for this yearā€™s FPC are to be scouted and play at the Canadian University level.

Liam was with the Stampeders for a year before going off to play high school football in the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA) with the Hayden Huskies during the school year. The Huskies made it to the finals this year, but lost to Nelson.

Last season, Liam got 46 tackles, two touchdowns and nine sacks.

During the offseason, the Husky runs and weight trains with his personal trainer.

While on the field, Liamā€™s biggest role model is Clay Matthews because, ā€œhe has a very inspiring story and he kicks ass.ā€

ā€œI love to play football because it teaches me a lot about teamwork and leadership, which are very valuable life skills and I love to hit,ā€ said Liam.
