Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Central): WR Lefebvre aiming for CFC100

Brandon Lefebvre’s football experience started five years ago at the age of 12.

Brandon has played for the Cornwall Wildcats in both the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA) and the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL), where he has played as an offensive player.

The wide receiver plans to play in the OVFL once again this year. Aside from the Wildcats, Brandon also started on the Cornwall Collegiate Raiders varsity team as a defensive back in the Eastern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (EOSSAA).

That same year he was award Most Improved Rookie of the Year. The following year, the Raider made the switch from the defensive side to wide receiver.

During his senior seasons, he was named captain and Offensive Player of the Year, winning two championships. This past season, Brandon picked up roughly 300 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

As a 2018 graduate, he hopes to make the CFC100 because it would show that his hard work has paid off and could open up other opportunities with schooling.

The wide receiver is also participating in this year’s Fox 40 Prospect Challenge and his goals are to become a better player overall, and pick up as much as he can from both the coaches and the other players. “I also want to challenge myself with tougher opponents and possibly the best of the province,” said Brandon.

His offseason consists of going to the gym to work on his physical strength and coaching football to younger athletes aged five to 14. Brandon also attempts to make it to as many camps as possible to help him become a better athlete all around.

Once the football season is over, he also takes part in track, soccer and basketball to keep himself in shape.

On the field, his role model is Antonio Brown because he was drafted to the NFL in the sixth round as the 195th pick.

“He was overlooked by many teams [and] he knew he had to do a lot of work to make it to the top, which he achieved,” explained Brandon. “In 2016, he was named the best receiver of the league, which shows to many people hard work does pay off.”

The Wildcat loves playing football because it is a game that pushes you to the limit and will challenge you no matter what.

“I love the feeling of the morning of game day knowing I’ll push myself to the limit that game to see my team with a win,” added Brandon, “the feeling knowing you have a second family with you.”
