Deon Reid is a wide receiver and naturally looks up to Odell Beckham Jr., a young man who is arguably the most popular and polarizing figure in football.
Reid would like to be in the same boat as Beckham, “I hope to be in that position one day,” says Reid. In all honesty, who would not want to be like Beckham Jr.? Young, fit, athletic, famous, and glorified
But Reid backs up his words through hard work, and dedication. During the offseason, Reid works on improving not only as an athlete, but also as a football player. “I go out on fields to work on routes, and footwork,” says Reid who adds, “I also get in the gym and jog as much as possible.”
There is a vast difference between being a great athlete that plays football, and being a football player, Reid understands the difference and his workout shows it.
Odell Beckham Jr. fascinates Reid because of how quickly he became a star in New York, which helps him be a good role model for children. “I think he is a good role model because he was able to establish himself as a star early on in his career and I feel like he is only going to get better,” says Reid.
Reid wants to make a positive impression at the CFCFPC in order to “get exposure, and hopefully get recruited,” adds Reid.
Reid began playing football in grade nine, but he “started to seriously play in grade 11,” says Reid, so making “the CFC 100 list is a major goal for me,” concludes Reid.
