Jake Julien started playing football in his junior year with the Barrie North Vikings in the Gorgian Bay Secondary Schools Association (GBSSA).
That summer he attended a couple of Kohls Kicking events, and this past summer Jake attended their National Scholarship Camp, where he placed thirteenth for this class.
āMy goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to compete my hardest and make the final team,ā said Jake.
During the offseason, the Viking is always getting out on a field and kicking.
āI try to get out at least three times a week and train,ā commented the kicker/punter.
In addition, Jake is also very active in his community playing rugby, soccer and any other sport that he has the opportunity to play.
On the field, his idol is his coach, Gary Hamilton.
āMr. Hamilton not only teaches at my high school, but he also coaches the senior boys football team, the badminton team and his daughterās basketball team,ā explained Viking. āHe is always on the go and everyday gives his best to everything he does.ā
Jake loves football because he has always loved kicking, and mixing that with the team aspect of football is his favourite part.
