Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (West Coast): Football more than an obsession for DL Aurora

For some, sport can become an obsession and nothing else, but for Ishan Aurora, he says it’s more than that.

Playing football has become more then an obsession of mine, it helps my character, leadership and work ethic, off the field it has helped me a lot with having a drive and I’ve made a lot of friends.”

Suiting up for the New Westminster Hyacks, the 6’3, 215-pound tight end has been playing for three years now. In junior bantam he registered 18 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. The next year, he had 8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 forced fumble while playing mostly as a guard.

He hopes to improve on all aspects of his game and apply them to his team when he participates in the CFCFPC this off-season. In addition to attending camps and games, he will be working on his strength, speed, and agility. He says, “I look up to the saying “all men are created equal. Some work harder in the offseason” so I make it my goal to work on speed, strength and agility whether its with my team or if im alone”.

His football experience to date has been “amazing”. He says that he puts a lot of hard work into his passion and can see the results which are gratifying. He uses role models such as Ray Lewis and Le’Veon Bell because “their path to success weren’t perfect yet they pushed through and achieved their dreams, and are considered one of the best at their positions, and I respect that” picture”.

With football being more then an obsession and using it to enhance his character, Ishan has many years to reach his goals and then some.
