Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (West Coast): From a troubled start to loving the game, Seamans looking to become better

At the age of seven, Matthew Seamans decided that football wasn’t for him. But after taking a break, he gave it another shot. This time, though, he was hooked.

I started at age 7 but didn’t like it. Then after a two year break, I started again but this time as a runningback and had a great season.  From then on I loved it.”

Seamans is 5’9 and 160-pounds. Currently playing for West Vancouver Secondary, the running back and linebacker has been playing football for nine years now, a far cry from his troubled start.

When we asked why he now loves to play football so much he replied, “The fun and all the strategy involved.”

He also looks up to runningback, David Johnson, of the NFL Arizona Cardinals, Seamans appreciates his type of play at his position.

In the off-season you’ll find Seamans working out with his personal trainer who he says is “great”. But he also goes to camps to improve his overall football skill and ability. For the CFCFPC he says, “to become a better player”, when asked what his goals are for the camp.

From a troubled beginning to now loving the game, Matthew Seamans is on his way to becoming the “better” player he want to become.
