Naylor plays on both sides of the ball for the Mount Doug Rams in British Columbia. When he isnβt catching footballs as a wide receiver on offence he is defending them as a defensive back.
The 6β1, 160 lbs Naylor has been playing football for nearly half his life for the Peninsula Wildcats and aforementioned Mt. Douglas Rams where he has been named Defensive MVP and Best Defensive Back.
Naylor says he has always cherished the sport, βIβve always loved football and I donβt know where I would be without it. I want to play for as long as possible and get to my full potential.β
Hayden also added, βI love being apart of a team and I’ve always loved the contact. I love the feeling you get when you make a big play and love playing with my brothers.β
When asked about being a part of the CFC Fox 40 Prospect Challenge, Naylor replied with, βMy goal is to get exposure and prove my skills with the best in British Columbia.β
One of the big things physically that Naylor does to keep fit and active is speed training at the University of Victoria and does that 3 to 4 times a week. Speed is a huge part of being a top wide receiver and defensive back so that will help him in the short and long term.
We asked Hayden who his biggest football role model is and instead of saying a top player in the NFL/CFL, Naylor was adamant and said, βMy dad. Heβs coached and taught me almost everything I know for the past 8 years in football and life.β
Hayden Naylor hasnβt had any official visits with any U Sports or NCAA teams but with his graduating year in 2018 approaching, he acknowledges that being on the CFC100 top prospects list is a big goal for himself to accomplish.
