Last season while competing with the Pickering Dolphins of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL), Joshua was awardedĀ the team’sĀ Offensive MVP Award for his play on the field.

This past spring, Joshua was invited to play for the GTA Rising Stars and to represent the Wettges Conference in the 2013 OVFL Prospects Game.

This fall, Joshua will continue his high school stint with the St. Maryā€™s Monarchs of the Lake Ontario Secondary School Athletics (LOSSA).

Joshua’s most memorable football momentĀ is playing in his first championship game with the Monarchs.

ā€œIt was my first time being in a championship game; however, we lost to Mississauga,ā€Ā says Joshua.

Joshua, has found a way to move forward from that disappointing loss with a positive outlook and uses that game as fuel for motivation.

ā€œI added a lot of incentive; I just trained in the off season and hope to be back there this season,ā€ says Joshua.

Throughout his career,Ā Joshua has surrounded himself with many inspirational and motivational people that keep him focused to achieve his goals.

ā€œWell, my Mom & Dad will be there for me whenever I want and they will always support me 100 percent,” says Joshua.Ā  Ā “My uncle does the same, but he is the one that got me into football and taught me a lot!”

” If not all I know! He is always telling me how to get better, and has been a great coach/father figure to me.”

While Joshua plans to graduate in 2014, Ā heĀ will stay forĀ an extra year of high school while deciding on his future.

ā€œI havenā€™t consider any schools Iā€™m trying to keep my options open,ā€ says Joshua

In university, Joshua plans on majoring in Criminology upon entering university.

ā€œIā€™m a student first, athlete second,ā€Ā adds Joshua.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
