Skyhawks linebacker joins CWUAA team’s 2015 class.
Rory OβDonovan likes the direction that the University of Alberta Golden Bears program is heading towards.
As a result, the 6β1, 185 pound linebacker from St. Albert has signed with the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.
Additionally, the impression that Golden Bears Head Coach Chris Morris left on OβDonovan was also a factor in his decision.
βWhy I committed to the University of Alberta is they are a program that has been taken over by a Coach Morris who is an excellent coach,β commented OβDonovan of his commitment.Β βTheir program has signed some very talented players in the past couple years as well as this year.β
βThe commitment Coach Morris has for his players are outstanding. The program has been revamped to a new level that I am very excited to be a part of. Also, the commitment Coach Morris has made to me is exceptional and I’m glad to have signed with the University of Alberta. Their program has also had some great accomplishments in the past and I hope to be a part of more of those. On the academic side the University of Alberta is held to a high standard, the resources for me to be successful there are amazing.β
Currently, the defensive standout is playing for the St. Albert Skyhawks of the Alberta Schools Athletic Association (ASAA).Β OβDonovan has also suited up for the bantam St. Albert Fury and peewee St. Albert Colts.
βI’m glad I have signed with the University of Alberta and am ecstatic about being a part of the program,β expressed OβDonovan.
